Bourbon Balls - another entry in sweet things to make to give and eat!

This one is easy to make and you can sit watching TV while you form up the balls!!! But don't forget to have something to wipe your hands because it can be a bit messy as the dough is sticky!!

Bourbon Balls (or Rum or Kahlua)

60 Vanilla Wafers (2 ½ cups crushed) ~ one box

½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1 cup sifted confectioner’s sugar (powdered sugar)

2 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder

¼ bourbon (or rum or kahlua)

¼ cup light corn syrup

granulated sugar

Crush wafer. Add chopped nuts to crumbs. Combine confectioner’s sugar, cocoa & crumbs.

Stir in bourbon and syrup. If necessary, add 1 ¼ TSP water so mixture will shape.

Form into ¾ in. balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Store in covered container.

Makes about 48.

Hint: Before forming into balls, put mixture in refrigerator for an hour (or even overnight). Chilling makes it a bit easier to form into balls.
