Shopping at Sara's for some Middle Eastern cooking items and other goodies for eating.

I decided to head to Sara's to checkout some things I needed to buy for future cooking projects.  Not only did I want the zaatar mix but I wanted to see what they had to make the khanafeh.  Yes, they have the frozen shredded phylo dough and ackawi cheese.   I couldn't resist getting some frozen puff pastry which I will try out on the remaining frozen sfeeha lamb mix.  I got sumac and zaatar along with halloumi and feta cheese.  Peeking out of the back is a jar of the green balady olives I like.  Not everything I bought is in this photo because I bought vegetables like okra, eggplant, cucumbers and tomatoes.

Then I decided to go back a week later for more olives and check out their halal meat offerings.  Although they do have chicken and other meats, I found these, beef and lamb merguez, and couldn't resist.  Yummy just cooked in the skillet and eaten with pita and baba ghanoush . . .two other items I bought.  I really need to go back for more of all those!

But, wait, there's more!!!   MORE olives . . .  a BIG jar of the green olives. . . I do love my olives.

I bought fresh pita . . .  they have great pita there . . . and some of the Persian cucumbers which make a great salad with tomatoes.

And I couldn't resist getting a shish tawook sandwich at the small grill they have in the back.  Yes, I gobbled it down once I got home.  I need more!!   I haven't been there in a long time . . . because . . .  PANDEMIC!!  Even though it is close, I hadn't been going inside a lot of  stores until recently,   I still do curbside pickup/delivery for some places but I have relented a bit on some grocery shopping because it is hard to find some items on-line.
