Living in Dallas with my cats and a few other distractions like crochet, jewelry, dye work and baking. I retired from my long time job at HP at the end of May 2015. Still trying to redefine my life in retirement but all those hobbies plus some travel helps.

Not sure why everyone that shows me around insists that they take photos of me with the scenery (bleh, not my best side here) . . . but here I am standing at a vantage point of the minaret for the ibn Tulun mosque (yes, I climbed up I think 4 levels on the staircase that spiralled around the outside of the minaret . . . OMG, LOL, not a very safe one by our standards because it was open with a not very high wall on the side). You can see in the distance The Citadel, which is one of the highest points in Cairo.
